I don't have pictures any more, but they just used a narrow strip of something that looked sort of like weatherstipping that you would put around a door in your house. The glue was some kind of spray on contact cement but I don't know the name. Sorry I can't be more specific but it was done quite some time ago. The name of the shop is Window Shades in Kennewick, Washington. They did a super job of tinting and took care of the repair and fix at no charge. You or your tint ship might want to call them to see if they can tell you what they do. I know it fixed the problem since there are no more scratches in the tint.

Iwent through EXACTLY the same thing as the original post. But my tint was a dealer-sold option, and came with a lifetime warranty. Sounds nice, except I have had them re-tint it 4 times, various windows but always the driver's.

"Window gasket" folding inward caused them to replace it every time. I finally asked the tech to take the door panel off and THEN take it to their contracted shop to have it tinted since I didn't want the tint place monkeying with the door. After all that was settled and they weren't pushing the gasket in, I got vertical scratches in the tint in the drivers door. Three times. I was sick of it and told them to please do something about it or replaced the damned door, and apparently they figured out something this go 'round.

It's sucks, but I'm glad to know I'm not the only one with the problem. I've never had tinted windows before and for what the dealer charged for it I wanted to be perfect.
