Hello HAN members, I have a quick question for the people in texas. I just bought a DC header, hi flow cat, and a greddy evo catback. Does anybody know nice shops in texas that can install them?

 

Do it yourself is the best and most satisfying way. Just get tools, PB, WD40 or Liquid Wrench, and some High temp antiseize, and a friend or two.

took me a while to get the header on myself. took me a couple hrs to get the catback on w/ a couple of buddies. the high flow cat depends if its a bolt-on or a weld in type. a muffler shop should be able to install everything for you for around $50-100. much better to do it yourself.

 

F the mechanics!!! When I took my suspension in to be installed they didn't put in the front struts in correctly and then while redoing it they snapped the strut and had to go out and get a new one. DO IT URSELF. When u DIY then u will follow the directions from manuals but mechanics think they know it all and usually skip over steps and mess up!

 

specifically where in texas? there are many shops in houston and some in austin.

if you're in austin (like me): then Protech, MZM, and other non-performance-only shops.

if you're in austin, streetrays ppl can help you installing some parts ourselves.

How hard is it to install a catback like the EVO yourself? Its just a bolt-on right?

 

Yea, but getting of the old bolts is the hardest part. I recommend you spraying Liquid Wrench or PB a couple of times a day before you attempt to break the bolts loose.

 

and those bitch ass rubber hangers

 

i put in a RS*R catback on my 94 myself with no help. it can be done. just use alot of liquid wrench or wd40 for the bolts and spray it all over on the rubber hangers and wiggle it in.. trust me.. they slide like butter..
