Default anybody's 03 a rattle trap?

I've got an 03 6-speed coupe and it is already making noise over bumps. Sounds like it is coming from the passenger side dash....maybe even from the curtain airbags near the windshield. When the car flexes over uneven pavement, I always hear the noise. Small bumps in the road, it's 50/50.

The damn thing has a 1000 miles on it and I got rid of a "poor-quality" Grand Am for a real car. I must say this is spoiling some of the experience. On the bright side, the car runs and looks excellent, but I am a little upset about the rattles.

Anybody know if I'm dealing with a common 03 problem?

Thanx!

Hmmmm...you sure you're not driving my car

I have the same "rattles". I get more of a "popping" sound in the places you mentioned. Mine are where the side curtain airbag meets the roof. I also hear a "popping" sound where the same pillar meets the dash. A lot of people have the headliner rattle, me included. I tighten up the two "roof" screws inside the sun glass holder and that helped a little. The next time I take my car to the dealer I'm going to have them fix this problem.

Good description, yes it is more of a popping sound than a rattle. I can duplicate it by slightly squeezing the air bag housing, it must be a cheap plastic piece.

I hate to complain about this car. I just bought it and am otherwise extremely pleased with it. My buddy has a new Mustang and has decided he must add a supercharger since I embarrassed him recently. We both couldn't believe how well my car ran and it isn't even broken in yet. The 6-speed really makes that car more competitive.

Thanks for the response and be sure to post on here if your dealer is able take care of those problems.
