Adding heated seats....or how to remove a leather seat cover
I am brand new to the board but i have a question i am hoping for some direction on. I have a 2000 accord coupe EX and want to add heated seats via those generic seat heating element kits. I am looking for some one with some experience with this that can help me primarily with taking the seat cover off in a leather interior coupe. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I think i found a great connection on heated seat kits that can be added to anyones car. I think i can get them for about 45 dollars PER seat. The cheapest i could find them on ebay etc was 75ish. That is for the carbon ones that can be cut to fit. But i want to demo one and make sure it works etc before i figure out if i am going to distribute etc.
Thanks guys
Brian

I am interested in the heater elements, if I dont end up putting 1st gen CL front seats in my car.
Taking the leather covers off is fairly simple... best bet is to remove the 4 bolts at the floor, all the wirring and take the seats out of the car.
There are small metal rings (called Hog rings) that secure the cover to the seat itself... once you remove the seats, you'll see them at the perimeter of the seat cover. You can either open the rings and reuse them, or just cut them off and get a bag of them from an upholstery shop, which is easier. These rings can also be found in the seating surface as well, holding the seams in the leather "in" the seat... you'll see what i'm talking about once you get to removing the covers.
Its more time consuming than difficult... you just have to have patience.
