Turbo. Because swap will be a 3 grand at the LEAST if you have someone do it. Turbo is unique even though im swapping and going all-motor.

V-AFC is useless on the F22B1 unless it is built. I know a guy who put one on his car and ran it at the track before and after. he said he noticed no gains but can TELL when vtec kicks in on his car. He said he used to not be able to know when or even if it did kick in. He set his at 3800 which is way to low but he said he can tell.

Vtec on the F22B1 kicks in anywhere from 2500 rpm to 3300 rpm depending on engine load and input from the speed sensor.

It's not supposed to be noticable because it's a Vtec-E system. Here is an exert from Temple of Vtec on how it works so you can understand why you don't feel it.

"A novel implementation of VTEC in SOHC engines is the VTEC-E implementation (E for Economy). VTEC-E uses the principle of swirling to promote more efficient air-and-fuel mixing in the engine chambers. VTEC-E works by deactivating one intake valve. Examine the diagram below.

In the SOHC VTEC-E implementation, only one intake cam-lobe is implemented on the camshaft. Actually it is really a flat "ring". In operation this means the relevant rocker arm will not be activated causing the engine to effectively work in 12-valve mode. This promotes a swirl action during the intake cycle. VTEC is used to activate the inactive valve, making the engine work in 16-valve mode in more demanding and higher rpm conditions. Honda was able to implement air-fuel mixture ratios of more than 20:1 in VTEC-E during the 12-valve operating mode."

simply installing it will do nothing unless tuned properly. the more engine mods you have the more power you can gain with these device. the vafc II is probably a waste since the original one can be purchased cheaper and you don't need the finer tuning abilities of the vafc II for a N/A f22b1.

honestly even with I/H/E mods i don't think the VAFC is really worth it on the F series motor.
