Default Exhaust Cut-Out

I am considering this set up: to keep my stock exhaust, get some cheapo headers off ebay, and get one of those cast iron exhaust cutouts and weld that on before the cat, good plan or not? its cheaper then a cat-back exhaust and I can control when I want it loud and stuff. Thanks

wow, that's a nice car. But all the same, just get a full catback custom made from a muffler shop. It's only like $250 total, including a new muffler, and it's not only going to be a lot more tolerable when it comes to dB level.... OMG you ever heard a 4 cyl with an open exhaust? LOUD AND HIGH PITCHED ....very painful. Also, you'll lose gobs of low end torque, which is all the Accord motor has going for it.

Not to mention the fact that it's extremely illegal to have an open exhaust on any public road.

My vote is, don't waste your time, money, or your hearing.

Well, actually this cut out is a switch operated one I am assuming that is what he is talking about since he says, he can control it when he wants to. So he would have a stock exhaust, than when he wants to run he flips the switch and open header, than close it off.

I think with those cheap ones on ebay you gotta whack them with a hammer or something to do the switch. lol.

and the main point is, it won't help your performance.....so don't do it. Running an open header on a stock engine would kill.
