Default OEM body Kit

Hey all,

I just bought a 1998 Accord Coupe LX-V6 and was wondering where I can get a factory lip kit for a reasonable price. I've seen them on handaaccessories.com, but for that money I'd just as soon get the Wings West kit. Any other places or ideas!! Thanks in advance!!

Just save for a new OEM kit, or save for the WW kit. A lot of OEM used kits that I saw when looking needed repainted, so that would have just been the same price as buying the new one off handaacc.(used one + paint/labor). Personally I got the OEM because its the best looking one, better than WW IMO.

Also, check on V6performance.net, theres usually someone selling one off of there. Once and awhile someone will throw one up on ebay. Or just wait, handa hasnt had them on sale in a long time, they might throw them up for sale soon, who knows.

Default Junkyard Costs

Any Ideas on what one may cost from a junkyard?

I'd say a few hundred from a junkyard, the ones around here like to rip people off and charge insane prices. Also, I can almost guarentee you wont find one at a junk yard, they are pretty rare. And if you do, most likely wont be your color, so you'll have to get it repainted(not worth it). Not trying to put that idea down, but its just easier buying new like I said above.

Um, wow, you're definetly not going to find one in a junkyard. Why would you think that? First of all, it's a pain in the ass to unbolt off of the car. Second of all, I'd say chances are about 0% that you'll even find one, ignoring the condition it may be in.

Now to be realistic: www.handaaccessories.com generally has the best prices. I got my kit there for under $500 on sale. Unfortuanetly, they haven't had a sale in almost a year. You can also do a search on www.parts.com.

I'd advice against getting the wings west kit. You can install both yourself easily, so that isn't an issue. But the WW kit will cost like $600, then you have to get it painted. That paint will not be the quality that Honda uses to paint their underbody kit. Then there's the fact that the WW kit is fiberglass and cracks easily and the Honda kit is plastic. Plus, IMO, the OEM kit looks a lot better and more subtle. OEM kit resale value > WW kit resale value.

Speaking of this, I have a LX Sedan and now I suddenly wish I had the side moldings that the EX have instead of the black ones. I have found the side moldings for the Coupe, but do they exist for the Sedan, aside from going the the dealer's parts counter and paying the big bucks for the replacement part?

Yeah, EX's have painted side moldings. At least on the Coupe.

That's what I just said. I want to find those that are on the EX for my LX. I'm just looking for where I might get them at a decent price instead of going to the dealer's parts counter and ordering them as a replacement. (Mucho $$$)
