Default 7th Generation Head Unit/HVAC Ctrls

Got a question for those in the know:

I have a LX sedan, and am looking at buying the head unit removed from an EX model. It will fit and all, but I'm wondering about the HVAC controls.

The LX has the simple manual controls, but the one in the EX model has different buttons as it is auto-climate. It is also dual-zone.

If I put this in my car, will my car then have auto-climate control? And/or dual zone? Or would I loose my hvac controls completely?

THanks for the help.

Think seriously before you do this...what is it going to do to your warranty that you paid SO much $$$$ for??

Automatic climate control has way more to it than just the control unit. There are sensors everywhere, lots more wiring, and more than likely some extra servos, etc. You won't get automatic climate control just by putting in the EX head unit.

Thanks for your responses... I guess I will just keep fiddling with the discs for now then. I was just wondering what effect the HVAC controls would have. If they stay manual, that would be fine, I just don't want to loose control completely.

Honda has an accessory add on for a 6 or 10 disc changer that can be mounted in the trunk i believe...check out handa-accessories.com

If all you need is in-dash changer look for LX V6. I think LX V6 has manual air and 6 disc in dash changer, so you can try that.
