Do MPG generally improve after engine breakin?
I haven't gotten through my first tank all the way yet but my mileage so far seems less then stellar for a 17 gallon tank. I have a new EX V6 and was wondering if mileage is a little worse at first.
Sure I've been using the AC a bit and drive in traffic but my old car with slightly less city/highway MPG ratings seemed to fair a bit better under the same conditions. Maybe just cause its new?

partly cause its new and partly cuz the V6's are pigs and partly cuz the honda gas gauges are liars (i'm serious...they tend to be conservative in how much gas really is in your tank)...
Drive till the light show's up and then refill...you should notice that you still had 2-3 gallons left in the tank....

yeah. it generally should move up a couple mpg. but nothing extremely drastic. i get about 20 to 22 mpg and most av6's average around there or so, so that should be the norm.
...i think that the gas pump lies.
...$24 a fill up my ass...i know i don't burn 14 gallons just driving in a day.

it seems like we have the same driving patterns. i use the AC at times, and when i do, i get about 100 miles per half tank ... if i'm good, i could get 350 or so out of the whole tank
