Default body kit and dropped

I just got a body kit put on my car and the bumper and sideskirts obviously give it less ground clearence, but i was planning on lowrering a little bit next summer (massachusetts winters and lowered cars dont get a long) but how will i know if i can make it over speed bumps and what not without crushing the sideskirts? iv seen kids at school go over sideways....what does that do exactly?

That always reminds me of a boat going over a wave or huge wake, you always take it at an angle to avoid a direct hit.

when u take it sideways only one tire hits the speed bump at a time. This way the car doesn't "fall" back down hard enough to bottom out on the bump.

U can get coilovers and raise ur car for the winter!

The whole point of going sideways...is to have at least one wheel at a higher height so that your car isn't at the lowest point.

Think of going at an left angle...the FR wheel goes up with the speed bump...while it's on its way down, the FL wheel is on it's way up...when the FL wheel is on it's way down, if you measured your angle correctly...the RR wheel should be on it's way up...and when the RR wheel is on it's way down, the RL wheel should be on it's way up...that way at any time going over the bump, at least one of your wheels is higher than the ground level.

The same idea applies for driveways and ramps.

If you went straight on, there's that point when both your front wheels is off the bump and your rear wheels isn't on the bump yet...so that's the minimum height...where if you're too low, you get exhaust and sideskirt scrapage.

Hope that helps! Good Luck!

it doesnt look as bad i thought it would without the drop but yah it does look a little bit goofy depending on the angle you look at it, but there is no point in lowering it right before winter, im just gonna wait till summer. I have the Tenzo coil overs and im gonna get either tokiko or koni shocks over the long cold snowy winter

oh and i get the whole speed bump thing too thanks.

you'll understand once you scrape

if you look at the front of my car, you'll notice that the passenger side is closer to the ground then the driver side. Since i took my driveway at an angle (which is like a neverending speedbump) one tire gets higher then the other and makes it so you won't scrape the front or sideskirts

where in Mass are you? I'm in Andover, I'm dropped on Tein coilovers and my car handles the winter fine. if you don't go to low you should be fine around Mass.
