99 Accord EX, or 98 Maxima?
Hello,
I haven't posted in a while, I dunno if you guys remember me or not, I was the one a while back who was working on my banged up 94 Accord EX Wagon. The starter went on my Accord the other day, which obviously isn't a huge deal, but I've decided I'm going to put the project to bed for a while, and buy a new (used) car. I've narrowed my options down to two cars, both around ten grand. It's either going to be a 98 Maxima (Automatic) or a 99 Accord EX (5-speed). This is a horribly tough decision for me, as I have always liked Accords, but I never really had an opportunity to get a Maxima. Both cars are dark green, both loaded pretty good, with sunroofs, power everything, and decent rims. The Accord has leather seats, however, which I like. The mileage on both are around 60k.
At any rate, this is a tough decision to make, and I really don't have very long to make it... Any input tonight would be appreciated... After tomorrow, it'll be too late. =)
Thanks

Max=more power
Accord=probably more reliable long term (although nissan is better than a lot), manual tranny, leather, looks better modified (I know that's subjective, but that's my opinon).
Have you driven both? If not, that may make up your mind as to which you like better.

I'm not really a big fan of that style maxima. Maybe if you were talking 2k and up, but 98's are kind of ugly to me. That motor is probably the best v6 on the market, nissan has been using the vq series motor for almost 10 years. Anyways, either one is a great car, accord looks way better IMO, and is 5 spd EX, so I'd go for the accord.
Yeah, I think I'm going to end up going with the Accord. Though the Maxima is nice, and a fair amount faster, I have always been an Accord person, and having a 5-speed would be nice... Not to mention the leather seats. Also, I like the stock rims on the EX Accord a lot better than this Maxima.
Ok, I ended up picking the Accord. It was listed at 10,500, and I offered the guy 10. He should be calling me back tomorrow with an answer. At any rate, I'm gonna buy it, and I should be driving it by Wednesday (Knock on wood). I'll post picks and all the fun stuff when I get it.
