ok so um im tryin to change my stock shift knob and the stupid thing wont come off!! is it supposed to be this hard? but yeah so help a sista out!! bai!

 

Well if its anything like my 92 (manual Im assuming...) you have to pop the boot off first. There are 2 clips that hold it up to the bottom of the shift knob which easily pop off, then you can unscrew the knob.

 

i have a 94 ex i thought the same thing, i told my freind about it and he tryed, he just twisted it harder than i was willing to, just needs a little force and it twists, as for the shift boot, i myslef am wondering how that thing comes off, im assuming you need to take the center consol out or somthing

 

yea to remove the stock knob you just pull down on the boot alil to unhook to 2 clips, then just unscrew the knob. As for the boot, yea u need to take out the center console then just unscew the boot. Its pretty self explanatory once you see the bottom.

 

tanks guys! well i figured out how to remove the boot.. just pull down!! but umm so now i tried to unscrew the shift knob.. but its harddd!! and it wont come off!!! i asked my friend and he said that the person prolly GLUED the damn thing on! but idk if thats.. umm.. possible! but idk! i am probably going to get some MUSCLE guy to unscrew it.. hehe im just too little and too "girly" hehe j/k! k tanks very much guys!

 

LOL or you could use something like pipe pliers to get some more torque.
