Default Upholstry Question(Applying Vinyl)

I got some vinyl to recover my door panels and dash to match my new leather seats. Has anyone recovered them before? I got them down to the wood looking stuff on the doors, and there is a foam feeling stuff on it also in some places. I am wondering what kinda spray adhesive is the best for the interior, that will stick, but allow some movement to smooth it out, and then stay hard till whenever. And im also wondering if i should use a hair dryer or a heat gun to try and heat it up a little when I need it to stretch a little.

Thanks

Walart carries some 90m spray adhesive. Use it its hte best. Yes a hair dryer will help too. only thing when you go around the curves on the edge of the piece. You need to cut little strips in the fabirc so that when you bend it around the curves it will not fold up and be messy.

i heard that you should use contact cement. The spray stuff supposedly will not hold up too well for a long time. Especially when it gets really hot inside teh car over the summer.

Go to any automotive parts store (hell even walmart has it I think) and look for 3M Super Trim Adhesive. It costs about 10 dollars a can.

Spray both sides to be bonded evenly and wait 15-30 minutes for the adhesive to tack up then join the two panels. If you do not wait for the adhesive to tack up the bond will not be strong and will come apart.

This is the best stuff you can get next to proffesional grade adhesive.
