Default Lx faster than EX?

Ok maybe im just trippin' here but i swear that my old accord is faster than my new accord. I had a 92 accord coupe LX 5-speed and recently upgraded to a 98 accord 4door Ex 5 speed. whats the deal? my old accord just seems to be quicker. am i just trippin' or can i be correct?

Your old accord is a lot lighter. Coupe vs. 4-door plus the 6th gen's weight lot more.

i thought that might be it. I also found out that my new accord cannot go past redline. what a bust when my old accord used to redline like a charm. I was able to beat automatic preludes and GTS's with my old (stock) accord. Now i'm looking just to keep up with civics. damn this transitions going to be tough.

the 4th gen's feel light and agile vs newer accords IMO. I almost bought a 4th gen, and drove one.... ended up with my 5th gen... it feels bigger and heavier when driving.

Quarter mile times are slightly quicker with LX's to EX's. Lx's are *quicker* because of their weight advantage.

Remember, i said quicker, not faster.

I read somewhere a while back that 4th gens were geared better, as well... they feel quicker off the line and seem to have more grunt.
