Default Need help with sunroof install...

I'm considering installing a sunroof in a 96' Accord 4 dr.
J.C. Whitney has a unit for $159. Has anyone had experience with this or any other sunroof installation in an Accord. Any others to consider?

Obviously cutting a 2 sq. ft. hole in the roof of a nice car is tough enough as it is, but I was wondering if any big troubles await me.

Thanks for your help,

DO NOT DO IT ...

pros
+ more light
+ some increased air flow

cons
- pop up sunroofs belong on early 90's chevys and fords
- you'll weaken the accord's body
- it will leak, no matter what you do, it will leak
- you might have to relocate the domelight

 to the idea

LOTS OF TROUBLE DONT DO IT! Take it to the pro's they will charge you around $500.00 to do it and may provide a warrenty if leaks do happen. Also if you do cut your roof it might void your insurance and make your car title as salavge I think... not sure.

If you do it right and get a motorized sunroof that opens up all the way, it can look great. As far as leaks go, my Accord came with one and not a leak yet. Whatever you decide to do tho, plz dont install it yourself. Im not shooting you down or anything but in the event that you mess up, thats a big oops. Wouldnt you rather pay more to make sure that it was done the right way vs taking a gamble and doing it yourself?

yeh...the cons outweigh the pros. I'd be scared sh%%less if i had to cut a hole in my roof. One goof up when cutting and its OVER!!
