How do I know if the car is built in the USA or Japan?

 

Look under the hood on the...radiator suport? I think? Or in the door jam maybe? Why am I answering this question if I'm not even sure :doh:

 

for your 4th gen, look at the VIN, if it begins with "J" then its japan built.

 

if the Vin it begins with "H" then its AMERICAN built.

 

Theres two ways of telling; the first it tells you right in the hood; for example, mine says Illinois. The second being a combination of what b12uceHuy and Samson said. Most hondas are built in the U.S. anyways i think.

 

I think from 2000 and on ACCORDS are made in OHIO , I think there.

 

Well, my DX Civic was built here and my LX Civic was built in Japan. Maybe only the DX's were built here :dunno:

I know 4 and 5G it the VIN starts with JHMC (Japan Honda Motor Company then usually what make your car is like civic hatches are EK or EG or something like that, Accords are CD 5, 6, or 7 to what ever gen your accord is and then I forget what the other numbers and letters mean, but I know one of the letters corresponds to the year it was built and what plant.
