Default '91 Accord EX Power Window Problem

Beginning of problem: Drivers side window went down half way and stopped, works o.k. now.

Passenger side did same thing, worked o.k. for a few days and now does not work at all.

Fuse is good, windows are clean, weather stripping is clean.

I'm thinking the relay.

Anyone know how to test it, or have this problem and have any suggestions?

If the driver side window is working perfectly now and the passenger side doesn’t, then we can definitely rule out the fuse or the relay as the source of your problem. They share one fuse or relay, if any of them goes bad, then all windows will be affected. Do you still hear a motor running, like clicking sound, each time you raise a window? Sounds that your window regulator motor is slowly going bad or already did. The window regulator motor is the mechanism responsible for raising and lowering the window and with your car year, it’s common for them to go bad…on some cars even sooner.

Its most likely the window regulator. I've seen them on e-bay for like 55 bucks each with a 1 year warranty.

I don't get any sound when I depress the switch, no clicking, nothing.

I had the same problem as you did in my 96 accord, with the same story as 93accord4door; problem being the master switch. You can get these at junk yards for cheap (bought mine for $25) and it works perfect now.

Took apart the door.

There is a connection that leads to the motor (a small, grey connection), tested and got voltage when switch was turned on so I think the switch is ok.

I think it's the motor, anyone know how to get the bolt off the front side of the passenger window, it won't drop to an opening (that hole they show in the manual) in the door to get a tool through to unbolt it.

What ya think about the price for a motor?

When i had my 96 lx sedan, my drivers' side went out(regulator that is). DONT take it too a dealer, i spent over 300 bucks gettin it fixed. This was when i just bought the car and i didnt know much about "DIY". The part was $100 and the labor was $200. So you shouldnt be paying any more than $100 for that part. Like other people have said, you might pay alot less. Just shop around.
