green "S" light is flashing
There's a way to read the fault codes, just like with the 'check engine' light for engine problems. I don't have a '90, so you gotta search for yourself.
Don't just replace the VSS until you know that's really the problem..

Definitely get the ECM code reading first.
If yours is indicating a fault code of 17, then your problem lies with the VSS Sensor.

Good Luck!

I have been doing research and getting some help via email. The red LED light in the A/T ECM is flashing for a duration of 2 seconds every 3 seconds. I assume this is 1 long flash meaning trouble code 10. I am looking for the procedure for that code.
Make sure you know which you're looking at. ECM is ENGINE control module, and TCM is transmission control module. Weren't these 2 separate boxes in '90?
Sickhonda - Do you have a '90 (or same gen?) I think I've already sent him on a wild goose chase because I went by where the sensors are located in my '98...

Hey Jim, I just called it the wrong thing. I did read the TCM, the guy helping me in email said it's the smaller of the 2 boxes so I didn't confuse them. If I read it correctly, the 1 long flash is code 10.
I was told in an email that code 10 is caused by the temperature sensor being bad, it's connector or wires and that this would cause the "lock-up clutch" not to engage. What is a lock-up clutch?

That stands for Sport mode, BTW, not shift. In the owners manual it says that it holds gears a little longer and downshifts a little easier.
I borrowed my boss' 4th gen Accord the other day

Maybe they meant the lock-up torque converter? There's a solenoid valve or something that makes it lock up. But I suppose it's not supposed to lock up until the engine or transmission are at good operating temperature?
I found out that yes it is the lock-up clutch on the torque converter. Does anyone know if it will hurt the car to drive it like this (without the lock-up clutch working). Everything else on the tranny shifts perfect.
