Default Tried to install HID's, now my headlights are messed up...

I tried to install my HID's that I got today into my 99 accord. I hate dealing with wires/crap like this. Yes, I know, hid's are a simple install, blah blah blah. Anyways, plugged one HID in on my drivers side, turned it on, and there was a slight spark, so I turned them off right away. Put my stock headlights back in, and now my drivers side light is dim, and my high beams wont turn off. Did I **** up my wire harness? I'm going to have to drive home tonight from work, so hopefully I can get this figured out fast. Thanks.

BTW: it was a 9006 kit, with hella ballasts. Also, does this kit have to hook up to my battery? it didnt come with anything to hook up to it. Sorry for being so illiterate, did a few searches, and thought I was ready to install.

Okay, I checked my fuses, and it was my fuse, so now my stock headlights are at least working. Any ideas what I did wrong with my HID's? Hopefully I didnt mess them up.

Does your wires look something like this?

In the picture that blue socket at the top is where your OEM 9006 will plug into. That small black box is your relay, and then there is the ballast. Make sure your system is grounded too.

If your system is running directly from the battery then you will need a 20 amp fuse.

Try to install it again. And do both sides before you turn it on to check.

When you get it installed, I recommend that you start your car then turn on your HID. And don't flicker your high beam with your new HID.

Hmm...there really isn't a ground but there is casing you can buy to protect your ballast. I remember my HID flickered cause there is power going to the bulb, however something with the ground was not complete. Its within the wiring just make sure everything is tight. The older HID wire allowed you to plug it in reversed and it will snap in tight. However it is wrong.

Go to www.suvlights.com and under HID Xenon bulbs and ballast and under D2R type ballast at the bottom there is an aluminum casing you can buy to protect your ballast. There use to be an ABS plastic type casing. You can e-mail and ask them if its still available.

i also recently retrofitted a kit into my accord. i did the full nine yards though and got projectors with it instead of a kit. all i had to do was tap into my low beams for a power supply for the ballasts and wired that to the bulb and i was good to go. i thought it was simple.....

Yeah, from what I kept reading it seemed simple. I'll try before work tomorrow again. I feel retarded, seems like a simple wiring hook up, I have no idea why mine are having problems. thanks guys.
