Like Cops?
Guess what? I got freakin pulled over tonight WITH my bud driving my car I might add. The cops said we were going 72 in a 55 zone, but we know we were not going that fast, because my bud has never driven in my car with the new turbo kit. He was just takin it easy first.
Oh, another thing...we live in CA. Ya, they popped my hood and said the adjustable boost on the wastegate is ILLEGAL, and the 'Intake' is illegal. I had to explain to them what everything was. They had no idea what they were looking at. They were just lusting to find things wrong with my car. They were gonna nail me for the MSD 'Ignition Timing' but i had to explain to them it was a MSD BTM and that it wasn't even hooked up.
So, they gave my bud a ticket and me a fix-it. I have to go to B.A.R. and have a referee see if it can be 'made' legal or i have to rip it out. I go to jail the next time I am caught with this turbo kit on the road. Can you believe this??? What should I do?
Ugh
Kosh

I guess I need to conceal my intercooler...make it black or something or put a grill. My dad says that may have been a reason why the cops got me. I have had this car for 2 years now and have never had probs. Only now that I bolt on a turbo do I get probs. After 3 days of getting a turbo kit....i have saved up over the past year working really hard to buy this thing and now i have to rip it off? NO WAY!
I know this is DUMB to ask, but I have never gotten a fix it ticket, what happens if you dont get whatever fixed? like if I get a ticket for my limo tint, what happens if I dont remove it? I have to just pay XX $$$ or get it fixed or you HAVE to get it fixed?
Just wondering...

I would make sure ALL of your mods are within your state's specs. That means, getting the CO output levels tested. Secondly, if he said your buddy was doing 72 in a 55, good chance he was. There are more and more Lasers in use and less Radars, so if the cop had laser that's it, no arguemnt. Best you can do is ask the cop at what distance he read you at..... laser guns will tell velocity and distance up to 1500 ft. and they have to write if they used laser or radar on the ticket. If they do use laser, they will write the distance they clocked you at.

The fact that it is a "fix it" ticket merely is a postponement (sort of) of you having to go to court for a violation, if I remember correctly. You should still have an appearance date on the ticket, and you also promised to appear by signing it. However, if you have the equipment signed off, and the ticket is sent in before the court date, then your ticket is dropped by the court. There may also be a fine attached, even though the equipment is signed off, so don't forget that. If you are not sure of the actual procedure, and if there is a fine or not, you can check with the traffic clerk's office at the courthouse. If the ticket is not signed off, then you are expected to be in court on the date on the ticket. If you don't do either, a warrant for "failure to appear" will be issued by the court.
Edit: Oops, just realized you weren't the original poster. Sorry to direct it at you. Slap me...:slap: Thank you.
