Default fuses

hey.. just wanted to know... in a circuit.... does it matter where the fuse is?

for example... if i connected a a new light in my car... it should be fine just as long at the fuse coems before the light in the circuit right?

the fuse should be as close to the power source as possible

Whatever part of the wiring is 'upstream' of the fuse is NOT protected by the fuse.
