i neverunder stood the concept of these. What is the freaking point because after the i guess 180 degree mark, the stock thermostat opens up as well. So the flow would be the same as this 160 degree one. You arent gonna kill your car w/ temperatures between 160 and 180 degrees. If you stomp on it and redline it, it should pass 180 quickly and open up anyways.
Pointless and waste of money IMO.

it just means your engine will start to cool itself a lot quicker then with the stock thermo. i know it should help with performance a little. kinda like when u are boosting and u want the coldest air possible, but your hp increase shouldn't be noticable with a thermostat
so does that mean that this thermostat is pretty much useless?

A cheap thermostat mod is just drill 3 or 4 small holes in the flat area of the thermostat. More coolant will pass through during warm up. It will still open at 180, but you'll have a more continous flow when its closed.
