Default A/C not working after timing belt change...

Hello,

Took my Honda Accord 95 V6 into get a timing belt/water pump change yesterday at a honda dealership here in barrie, ontario, canada.

All seemed ok until I turned the A/C on and I herd this hissing noise on the pasenger side under the dash, also I noticed condensation under the dash and I can't be sure but I trhink that the A/C is far less cold than it used to be.

any idea what this could be??

talking it in to get looked at tommorow but was hoping to have an idea before I walked in there...maybe a pinched hose or somthing?

thanks alot....

the mist seems to appear when the a/c system is undercharged, though i'm not sure why.

have it tested for leaks with fluoro-lite dye.

the misty stuff you saw coming out of the vents was freon in its liquid form. If your A/C is not working anymore, then you can guess the evaporator which sits inside the heater box is leaking. However changing the timing belt would not have caused this, so don't expect the shop that worked on it to tell you any different. When replacing the timing belt, it is not necessary to loosen or remove the A/C compressor, so consider this a "one in a million" coincidences.

i got that hissing, and misting when my a/c freon needed to be recharged.... it eventually runs out after like 10 months or so... but since the leak is so slow, they cant find the leak with the dye.

Default cost

It was about 650 tax in (CANADIAN FUNDS) for a water pump and timing belt change, that was at the honda dealership.

Default 1 in a million...bah not sure accordvtec77

It is possible that its a one in a million, but I highly doubt it....my A/C has been working perfectly, and I had the freon recharged and A/C checked with no problems a year ago.

The second I turned my A/C on after picking my car up from the shop. That mist shit came shooting out and thing started making a hissing noise...then next morning no cold air. I am going to push hard for them to fix it...very hard!!

In the shop as I type...waiting for the call..

lets hope....
