Default Dual exhaust for I4 accord, whats the best bang for the buck?

Im thinking about putting a dual exhaust on my 01 accord I4 cp. I want it to look a little better and sound a little more decent, but I also want a hp boost. So far I dont have any engine upgrades (I have been working on video/audio along with appearance, but now I want to beef it up a little bit). I was wondering if it is worth getting a dual exhaust (cat back), if so which kind is the best bang for the buck and if not, what kind of single exhaust (cat back) is the best bang for the buck. Also if you have any opinions about what cold air intakes are good for the money, but still reasonable, dont hesitate to leave some feedback. Thanks

Dual exhaust on an I4 is :ghey:

You asked for my opinion so there it is.

There is a reason why i4's only come with a single exhaust and v6's come with dual exhaust's...you do the math!

Duals on a 4 banger, Well you will lose torque, and add more weight, but you will add more top end horses. By the time you get to top end to see those horses. The cops will have already caught you. Free trip to county lock up for going over 100.

Now so much for the speech. A nice single exhaust would be a Apexi WS although it is kinda large, but sounds good. Greddy evo is a good one. Tanabe hyper medallion is a good exhaust. All these are pretty quite with a nice low sound. You really didn't say what sound you were looking for.

Intakes. I'd look in the for sale section and see if you can pick something up cheap.

Performance is all relative, and "performance" with "accords" shouldn't be used in the same sentence. If you're modifying your accord for all-out performance, you're wasting your time.

I bought a Tanabe Super Racing Medallion dual cat-back setup made for an S2000 & had it customized to fit on my accord, but I didn't do it for performance purposes...more for show purposes because the dual exhausts look nicer than just having one. With the silencers in I think it sounds excellent, not "ricey" at all. Without the silencers, well...it's annoyingly loud.

Im not really going for the "lets switch out every stock engine part with high performance pieces", I just want a little throatier sound and just a slight hp boost for day to day driving.

i think if you use small enough pipe like 2 inch pipe instead of 2.25 after it splits you should be ok and not lose much power if any at all. i think it looks good on 6th gens, however i'm not a fan on wasting money on a dual set-up for a car that doesn't need it.

Accord Sleeper is right about the piping, although I personally like dual exhaust.
Anyway, about intakes, go with an AEM. It'll run ya about 170 after shipping, and you should also get a bypass valve. Another 35 bucks, but it stops water from sucking up into your intake and going to your engine. It is also the only intake that's carb legal. If you get pulled over, you don't get a ticket. It has a carb license number right on the intake itself. The cheap intakes don't come with a carb exempt number= ticket. and the intake will make your car sound "beefier" also. ...Just a thought
