Default help!

ok, here's the deal. Just installed a new motor from a 97 accord into my 96 accord. Same motor f22b2. Just took out the old and dropped in the new. Now new motor won't idle right. surges and shuts down after temp raises to normal operating temp. any suggestions? we've already tried messing with timing. No change. check engine light flashes error code of 5 flashes but I don't know what that means. any help would be greatly appreciated. the sooner the better.

either map sensor or vacuum leak.

reset the ecm, then start the car. using the throttle, keep the idle at 1000 RPM for one minute.

if the light does not come back on, it's the map sensor. check for a broken/loose connector. if it's secure, try swapping the old sensor to the new engine.

if the light does come on after holding the engine at 1000 rpm for a minute, check for loose vacuum lines.

sounds like a vacuum leak if the idle is surging
