Is The Motor In A Honda Accord Ex Or Lx Any Different
I have an 2003 EX-L... another nice thing is the dual zone A/C... ever go on a long trip with a woman? They seem to like it 5 deg hotter all the time! Putting down my sun roof just tops the icing on the cake for me. The 2003 Accord EX-L has all the creature comforts and the stock alloy's are nice IMO. The only problem is it rides like a go-cart.... but then again that the last thing all you young customizers want. Why didn't they put automatic head lights in the darn thing?.. also auto closes sun roof. Those are the functional things I think they could improve.

The main thing that sucks about my LX is those damn drums out back. I've been looking at parts for a conversion (basically cosmetic) but still deciding.

you can always go to junkyard find a EX and get all the parts that is needed for the rear disc and stick it on your car. thats wat poeple do on CIVIC. they rear brakes from Civic SI, integra, etc. i hope i can do that to my 03 accord but since the EX got the electronic brake thing mite be hard to do.

It's purely cosmetic, since you will probably won't notice any kind of braking difference. The only reason why the EX has rear discs is because of ABS.

yeah, I guess Honda must have decided it would be better to have discs out back so they have one less "different" part to manufacture. Kinda like how both the new 4cyl, and and V6 Accords have 5-lug wheels, and how the 6th gen LX got the same 4cyl engine, and the suspension that was always reserved for the EX.

EDIT: don't mind that stuff bout different ABS modulators...i meant to compare 4 cyl to V6 modulators, which are different...not DX vs everything else.

So why did Honda use rear drums? Because they are cheaper?
hmm...i posted some shit there and took it back, but you beat me to it.
drums = cheaper. it's basically that simple.
abs is important to safety and has become universal on most every new car, even the low end ones. honda isn't gonna leave it out when everyone else has it now.
