Default A few engine questions.....

Am i suppose to smell exhaust fumes coming from the engine bay, specifically the header/heatshield area when revving the engine? I smell strong exhaust fumes when doing this... I also notice that ive always got some black residue on the top of the under side of the hood... prolly from the exhaust fumes.

Also, how do i change the power steering fluid? Does it need to be Flushed ? or just drained and filled? If so, how do i do this? And what fluid do i need to buy.

thanks
Sean

I have also noticed that the cat or something under the middle of the car, is vibrating on/off at idle... which it is noticeable when standing to the side of the car. It didnt use to do this.

no, you arent supposed to smell engine fumes at all. You might want to check your head and exhaust manifold gaskets and maybe your down pipe for holes. . .
