91 Accord Engine Kills While Driving,..Help!!!
Someone please give me some advice... My 91 Accy is dying while I'm driving. It kills intermittingly. When I gear up back into Park and attempt to restart the damn Check Engine comes on and won't allow me to restart (just turns over)...
I usually have to sit from anywhere from 10-20 minute until she feels like starting again. And after that, it's only temporary, until I can hopefully make it home.
Main Relay or Ignition Coil?? And where's the most affordable place to pick up either?
Signed Stranded...
I recently repaired a 96 accord that did the similar thing once it got warmed up it would stall I replaced the ignitor and it hasn't come back yet its been at least 2 weeks. The next time it dyes turn the key on and listen, when the check engine lite goes out you should hear a click if it does the relay is fine. The other thing is that if it just shuts off it more than likely isn't fuel if it was fuel it would sputter.

if it's recent, check the coil/ignitor.
After hearing a few responses I replaced the ignition coil, distributor cap, and rotor..... no difference. I drove about 4 miles and it just quit.. The rpm's dropped to zero and the engine dies cruising me to a stop. Pain in the a$$! :madfawk:
I hadn't checked the codes because of my unfamiliarity of how to determine codes.
I suppose I should lean towards the main relay and ignitor... I sure don't want to send this car to the dealership. I couldn't find the relay at any local part shop though.... Crap!!!:madfawk:

After the dealership told me for $80, that I would need pay them $342 to install an ignitor and an ignition coil that I had already replaced myself (saying that my part was no good), I put the ignitor in myself a part that only cost $60 at AutoZone.
It did the trick,.. no problems so far.
Thanks for the advice..
