225/35/R18 Rubbing on 5th Gen?
Hey I have 18x7.5 ADR's and I'm trying to figure out what size tire to buy.
I tried to buy 215/35's off Tirerack but those bastards :madfawk: won't sell them to me because the total weight capacity of all 4 tires misses Honda's minimum requirements by 154 lbs.
So...
Would 225/35's work with my car??? It's a 95 LX Sedan. The offset of the rim is +42. I have some coilovers coming as well as camber kit and I'm worried the 225/35's will rub.
Tirerack suggests I run 215/40's however according to the tire calc at miata.net that is too big to replace my stock size of 185/70/R14. 225/35 is a perfect fit as far as diameter goes.
Also I am just considering calling into Tirerack and telling them it's for my... ah... Civic... :naughty: :fawk:

i had 18x7.5 +42 racing harts on my 5th gen coupe with 225/40-18 rubber. they rubbed a bit when i was on coilovers. i think it was mostly due to corrected camber front and rear.
im running 18x7.5 with 225/35/18 and i havent had any problems they did rub a bit when i would pull in to a slanted drive but i fixed that by rolling my fenders and im also dropped 2.25 in the front thats lower then most people go. But no i have no more problems with rubbing now so yes they will fit.
When I saw the Pirelli PZero Nero M&S I changed my mind so I think I'm gonna stick with 215/35's. I looked them up on Google and found lots of information about them. They are specially designed for low profile applications and have a reinforced sidewall giving them a higher weight capacity. As for ride quality, well my daily driver is a '90 Ford Ranger with a 4" drop so that pretty much sums up my concern with ride quality... :jerkit:
Check the reviews on tirecrack. Of course I won't be buying them there... :fawk:
