info on H22a into 5th gen accord
Hey,
I am specifically looking for info on an odb1 h22a into an obd2 5th gen accord swap. As detailed as possible. I have seen the FAQs in the forums, but i was wondering if anyone had anything more specific to wiring and vaccum. Also the differences between the JDM and USDM ECU (as far as ppin differences). Any info would be helpfull, i would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you.

Get a Helms manual for the year engine you are getting and one for the year accord you have all questions will be answered.

i'm past that step.
HELMS manuals help to a point. And now i'm a little past that point...i have the manuals, and i've done the wiring according to the wiring manuals. But there are still a few problems i have to work out. The manuals are really useless at this point, i need information from people who have done the swap.
P.S. it's an automatic 92 h22a into an automatic 96 Accord LX.
I specifically am having problems with CYP. Car runs, and Auto Tranny works fine...i just need to work out the CYP code.
Thanks for the help though.

how much did you get the h22a motor for??? my friend is trying to do the exact same swap but he has a 95 accord v6 automatic...we want to know how much the motor runs for and is it direct fit and what else must be changed to have the car running...thanks
goto raceup.com. thats where the motor was ordered from....less than 2300$ shipped as i recall
h22a.org should have info on the swap. We went into a 96 accord, and thats a whole new ballgame. OBD2. I've heard that the swap into a 94 or 95 is quite easy, though i'm not sure about the V6 models.

yea, PM me if you have any more questions
v4lu3s:
I am running the JDM P13 with the JDM TCM. I assume, since the ECM came with the engine set, that it is the correct one (the Automatic ECM). I have the helms for the USDM manual prelude, so maybe the JDM auto has some different pins? I can't find a JDM P13 pinout

all obd 1 ecus are the same pinout EXCEPT 94-95 accords. it doesnt matter if it is jdm or usdm...
what year p13 do you have? is it obd1 or obd2?
if it is obd1 and you are using the obd1 distributor you either have bad wiring or a bad distributor.
if you are using any combo it is most likely wiring.

I am using an OBD1 ECU and i have wired an obd1 external coil distributer from US SPEC H22a and an internal coil distributor from JDM H22a (the accord harness calls for an external coil, then we rewired for an internal coil). They both throw CYP. I have run the two CYP wires strait from the distributer outside the car and into the ecu, and it throws the code. I've been through 3 sensors and 2 distributors. The Sensors test ok for ohm resistance.
I am starting to believe we have a bad ECU or something mechanically is messing with the exhaust cam and causing it to lope, thus causeing an intermitent signal from the CYP, that could throw the code. Once the car warms up it throws the CYP and the RPMs start to surge.
