you don't always fill to max capacity, even with the guage on E. you won't be seeing 17 gallons from the fuel pump, you'll most likely be seeing 14 - 15 gallons when the guage reads E.

If I had to guess...

When that little light goes on, then it's an indication to get gas. However, I think there is a reserve of 3 gallons of gas left when it comes on...hence most fillups are between 14-15 gallons. I tried running it as low as I can get it....after the steady light goes off, it turns into a blinking light.

So if the steady light doesn't annoy you to get gas right away, the blinking light should do the trick. Just a safety thing...so you don't get stranded.

well thats a general amount of miles but in reality you should get more then 40 miles, their is about 3 gal of gas left, and say you get even a shi*y 15 miles per gal thats 45, but 15mpg is low so most people get more...

ANYWAYs, hehe the idea about running your tank lower then 2 gal is not really all that good. I mean short term wise its fine and wont hurt the car, its designed for that so you DONT run outa gas, but dont keep doing it or do it just to do it because its not all that good for the car neither, when you are driving gas moves around and if their is little gas their the car will just start using the gas vapors if their is no gas by the fual line hose to get suckd in and doing that is not the best thing...

I mean I have a friend whos mom always ran the car till it said 0 miles till empty and still drove another 20 or so miles and when you opened the gas tank you could hear the air rush in, hehe but after a while her car started fuc*ing up, and this 2nd car she messed up like this... But hey the one is a Ford....

Anyway just trying to say dont do it to do it, if it happens its no biggie but dont run your gas to nothing just cuz your to lazy to fill it up, thats not always good just cuz you can do it...
