i watch the tach on my runs...redline isn't always the best point to shift.... to keep constant acceleration you need to know when to shift... and a precise tach would help in noting such "shift points"
I shift around 5900 RPM's in my 94 Accord EX because if I redline it I don't go any faster and it is just wasting time, and I can hear my engine...I no longer look at my tach

yeah... but 59 isn't always the bet time to shift either... it changes with what you have in you car and what gear your in...

with a VAFC you can get an accurate RPM reading. then once you know what's accurate you just correspond that to your stock tach. the reason why i shift at 7900-8000rpm on my stock tach if i want to race someone.

That was info for an H22 though... keep that in mind. I don't wanna see someone revving up to 8k w/ their F22 and wondering why it blew....

you guys are all forgeting why you get the aftermarket tach in the first place...... well i got mine so i wouldn't have to look down at my tach when i shifted gears.... cause it flashes the bright ass yellow light in ur eyes...... but thats cool too

so whats the best and cheapest 5'' tach w/ shift light you can buy aside from Autometer? coz Automere gauges are freakin expensive.

umm you can buy just a shift light from autometer:slap:
