Default Some newbie questions...

Hello, my name is James and after buying a shiny new 2003 Sapphire Blue Pearl Accord Coupe EX-V6 I went searching on the web for places to discuss the new love in my life and I stumbled across Honda-Acura.net. I'm happy to be a new member here, and am looking forward to all the great advice that I'm sure to get from fellow Honda enthusiuasts.

Enough about me, on to my newbie questions! My first question is, exactly how much modification can one perform on a new Honda without voiding any part of the factory warranty? This is obviously of paramount concern due to the fact that I don't want to throw away 3 years of bumper-to-bumper coverage on my new machine!

That said, the first mods I'm considering are engine air management and springs. With that in mind, can anyone offer opinions on H&R vs. Eibach springs? And when it comes to Eibach, I need feedback concerning the Pro-Kit vs. Sportline. I'd like your impressions of ride quality vs. the stock springs, visual effect of lowering the car, that sort of thing. As far as air handling, I've heard great things about K&N's Filtercharger as a place to start, but I'm kind of at a loss from there. I know there are many companies making cold air induction systems, but am not sure who is considered the gold standard or even how many make CAI for a relatively new car. So as you can tell, I am extremely curious about the potential for my new baby, but also extremely novice in this area!

Any help, advice, opinions from the more experienced members of this site would be greatly appreciated and I look forward to a long and fun association with y'all! Thanks

Welcome. As far as modding the car, you'll only void what you modify. As far as springs, both Eibach and H&R are good companies. I have the H&R sports, and they are great. I rode with them on stock shocks for 2 years, recently upgraded to Koni adjustables.

With the Sportline springs, you'll likely want camber correction and possibly new shocks right off the bat due to the larger drop.
