Default Coilovers vs Springs

This has probably been discussed before, but I would like to know everybodys opinion on coilovers vs springs, excluding the obvious adjustable ability.

I read somewhere that springs ride better than coilovers, but I don't know if this is true.

The reason I'm asking is that I'm thinking about getting rid of my GC coilovers for some springs.

Suggestions / Opinions?

:slap: why get rid of them. Coils ride pretty good and stable more than springs.

Well that all depends on the type of coils and how your setup is. True coilovers will get you the best ride you can get. Closest to stock right. But say you got some cheap ass coilovers on ebay. Your ride will be so harsh that you never want to drive again. Or say for your GC coilovers....you can add koni yellows to them, and supposedly they will ride really well. I know a guy that has skunk 2 coilovers and he says the ride is extremely harsh. But he also doesn't have any aftermarket shocks, so that could also be the problem. It all depends on setup.

why would you get GC, and konis. for that cash you can spend about the same amount for true coilovers. Tein Basics are only about 750-650 while the SS are 950-850.

Well...I got GC coilvers and KYB AGX shocks. They don't ride that bad...its just that my car is really low right now....so I wanna raise it up a litlle bit before I put my kit on.

But it looks like my rear coils are at the top of the thread, so I don't think I can raise the up anymore. Can I get longer springs? I don't think that GC accounts for the fact that you might have larger wheels.

huh? If it's at the top perch then it should be only 0.5" lowered from your stock height, you sure you got them setup correctly?

Well the reason why I say this is because he already has GC coilovers. Might as well go ahead and buy them rather then try to sell them for half the cost or less and having to spend more for just the basic.
