koba 9005/9006 bulbs

yeah i just bought these .. http://ebay3.ipixmedia.com/abc/M28/_...caf606/i-1.JPG

I had 80w bulbs in my low beams and it fried the harness. its at honda now getting fixed ... so i thought i would try some new bulbs not 80w's lol .. i might try the 9005 conversion and i will have the 9006 for back ups ..

have you tried the new sylvania silverstars, i think they are good and cheap too

WarptEra 07-09-2003 09:57 AM

silverstars are still about 20bucks/bulb where I live.

maybe you should invest in a HID kit, if you want great lighting.

as good as any of these high end halogens are, they still only have half the output of a good HID kit and they only last 1 year max.

HID will probably run about $400-550 but they'll outlive the car and be way better.

yeah.. i want HID but dont have 500 to drop on them lol ... these kobo will be fine i am sure and only 20$ for the both of them

Couldnt you have used a wire harness adapter to use higher wattage bulbs? I've seen those adapters at Pep Boys

ACCORDDUST 07-09-2003 12:48 PM

? ?

ACCORDDUST 07-09-2003 12:50 PM

all i know is my wires are all ****ed lol honda is replacing them 200$ out of my pocket .. it sucks

Mx6GT91 07-09-2003 01:04 PM

$200 could have gotten you a pretty nice HID kit off E-bay. This is the people im going to buy my kit from
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=36476

They have the diamond white (most expensive) and the blue/white which is what im gonna get

people say that they look cheap, but all the kits look the same wiring, bulbs, ballast, and mounts........only difference is brand name. Lots of people buy there HID kits, if you need info on them send them a message

BTW, cheap bulbs is what makes the harnesses melt. I havent had a problem with mine, but I have Hiper Industries bulbs
I have never heard of those bulbs??

ACCORDDUST 07-09-2003 01:07 PM

yeah i know .. oh well .. i mean i didnt know that the 80w would **** up my wiring and all that ... i am just going to get the Kobo.. they are 55w for the low beam that will be fine ..

You can probably fix it yourself for cheaper. Especially since you have to pay for it anyways. So not covered under warranty?
