acctually I don't think you should hear a tick with the windows up... it's really high pitched and should only be heard on the outside if it's lifters. I've noticed on some occasions an ever so slight knock I can hear on the inside.... buddy let me tell ya... I'm SO picky it's not even funny, and this one doesn't bother me. Keep in mind that it could be tons of little things that don't matter one bit. Just embrace it lol. OIL CHANGE: I'm going to do mine every 3k PERIOD. I drive in the city stop and go mostly, so I need to change a lot. If all you do is drive on the highway, then maybe 10k is ok. I also run 5-30 in my car, not 5-20. 5-20 is a lighter oil... they do this because you get better milage with lighter oil (keep in mind they are taxed based on milage ratinging, so if they spec 5-20 and get 1 mile per gallon better it makes a big difference to them), however, it doesn't protect as well in really hot conditions. The truth is that if you change it every 5k no matter what the condtions are it will probably last 200k anyway... the rest of the car will fall apart around the engine.
well the ticking sound that i hear is so slightly that everyone is always telling me that iam crazy but iam very picky with all my stuff you bearly hear it only when your stop or parked with the radio off and the windows clothes other than that you dont even hear it and yea i always change my oil on my civic at 3,500 miles but when i went to the dealer to change the oil in the accord they told me every 10 k is suggested i guess its because its free i thought but then i read the car manuel and thats what it said but iam going to do it about 4k .
No problem
If you want a reality check just go drive an American car for a couple days and then come back to your Honda. I'm totally pro USA, but I don't believe giving my money to big 3 executives and laborors that make outrageous wages is what being an American is all about. My Accord was assembled in Japan (thank God), but many of them are assembled in the USA. Most of the parts are Canadian and American. If you look at a USA car most of the parts are made in Mexico and Canada, so the whole notion to buy American is out the door on this one... the first thing the big three do is buy their parts outside the US to get costs down.
