Default Brake problem in 4g

I had to slam on my brakes a few days ago to miss some tourist who pulled out in front of me at like 50 and the ABS sure don't work anymore - but thats a different story. Well after this my brake pedal is really mushy when it comes to using it softly like in traffic. I have pretty new brake pads. They still have at least an 1/2 inch on them. The brake fluid looked pretty black like oil so I figured a good brake system flush would do the trick. I bought a one man bleeder thing at Advanced auto with a few bottles of 5.1 fluid. Did the whole system flush yesterday. Well today driving home from work in traffic the pedal went all the way to the floor when I press it very slowly, but if a hit it hard the brakes work like their supposed to. I figure its the Master Cylinder, but I wanted to get a few more opinions first. I also checked the vacuum check valve and it is working fine.

Anybody else have any ideas?

either you master cylinder is going bad, or somewhere, there's a leak.

I don't think there is a leak because the fluid level stays the same even over a few days of time.

No because I did the flush and bleed after the problem. I did the bleed good. No air bubbles were in the clear tube.

I'm in the same boat as you are. My girlfriends Accord is having the same problem, it's a 91. When you sit at a light in her car, the pedal slowly sinks to the floor. I bled the brakes today, no air bubbles, and there is plenty left on the pads and rotors. I'm guessing master cylinder or brake booster is going out. There aren't any leaks so that's a good sign.

drive down a back road at 35 and slam on the brakes. If you hear alot of screeching and see smoke roll up. Then you ABS isn't working. Pay attention to feeling a pulsing feeling went the hit the brakes hard. This is the ABS controller working. ALso pay attention to see if certain wheels aren't working.

Mine only works in the rear. Its done this since I bought it.
