Cracked CV Boots???
I got a coupon for a 9.99 dealer oil change so I went in and got an oil change. During the oil change they noticed that all four of my CV boots are cracked and recommand that I get it changed as soon as possible. Is it that important?
I was just in the dealer a month ago for the 90K service and timing belt change...etc all that stuff and this wasn't mentioned... Weird...
Anyways, it'll cost around $450 to get all of it changed. Just need some advice/comments.
Thanks,

I had the CV joints and boots (well, actually they just replaced the axles with rebuilt ones) replaced for around $300. If the boots are cracked then they probably have no grease...once you get little pieces of dirt in the joint, it is just a matter of time until the CV joint starts clicking. BUYER BEWARE....you can get screwed with rebuilt axles and new ones arent much more expensive...mine are going out again, guess I learned that one the hard way. Still, all the shops I priced were in the $300 range.
haha my cv boot have been torn for about 1.5 years now and i cant remember my car not clicking when i turn. i have been driving this long without changing them. honda made some strong axels. i know i will get yelled at by this forum for posting this, but i have the new axels sitting in my garage, they have been there for hafl a year, just too busy/lazy to actually put my time into it. i remember i tried to do it once but i couldnt get that damn axel nut off. its size 36mm just in case anyone wants to know.
