Hello, Im new here
:wavey:
Hey there, Im new here. I was refered from HS.
I have a 90 Accord from Japan, not USA made (well the body is US made but the engine isn't).
I was looking at my VIN number and asked a friend and he told me mine was from Japan and he says its kinda hard to get some parts. Boy does that make me feel proud? Hee Hee.
I lost my 91 Accord (American Made) in an accident that wasn't my fault. Damn kid who was doing weed and wasn't paying attention. He got his driver's ID 4 days before the accident, and my daughter was born 5 days AFTER the accident. Strange story huh?
Im trying to get some pictures so I can post them up on a homepage, website to show how bad it was. I dont quite know where to find that. Maybe you guys can give me some ideas. Something creative, not boring as if you know what I mean.
Thanks

oh .. also for a webpage ... if you have a Yahoo.com email address, go to Geocities.com (same ID and logon) there's a quick webpage builder tool that is super easy to use. it's all drag and click.
American and Japanese Accords that were built in Japan or US for the United States are no different from each other in any shape or form. Everything is the same.
But now the JDM models made in Japan for Japan are different from ours
The ways you can tell if your car was made in Japan is if it has
a. "J" as the first letter of your VIN number. US made cars usually have a "1", Canada is "2", and Mexico is "4" i think.
b. "Made In Japan" sticker under the hood.
Also parts would not be hard to find at all since they are interchangeable from US-Spec to JDM-Spec anyways.

True in most cases, but when you do get into the 5th gens, there is a significant difference in some mechanical components between the US-built model and the Japanese-built model. just an f.y.i.
sorry about your accord, i hope your new one is some solace for losing the last one.

Well I think some of you could be wrong, but I dont want to argue. All I can say is the engine in a Japan car is different because the parts in it are different. Here is one example. The A/C compresser (little bolt in gold that prevents A/C from draining out) is bigger then US made. I wanted to show a picture but I dont think that Haynes manual book has the part shown.
I looked at the body, its made in japan, the hood is, too.
So thats pretty much what I know.
