Default Testing fuel pressure 99 Vtec

I am trying to test the fuel pressure on a 1999 Accord 2.3 Vtec. I cannot find a check valve any where on the fuel rail. It will only run if you prime the fuel system by leaving the key in the on position before you try to start it. Even then you have to try it a couple of times. It will run perfect after that, with no hesitation. Every once in a while it will shut-down while driving. Any ideas? Is the only way to pull codes out of these models is with OBD-II software?

This guy is a regular on Honda-Tech.com; I hope he doesn't mind.

Read his mods section about fuel pressure regulator install. You can then build your own cheap FP gauge--to see what your car is doing at start-up.

Hope this helps.
