emblems

The gold is flaking off of my emblems, so I am going to paint them..what grit of sand paper should I use to sand them, and what should I use to reapply them to the car?

From: glass case of emotion

400 or 600 grit should be good to sand down the emblems. anything over that will leave scars in the metal.
