My New AEM CAI

My New AEM CAI
Well folks,
I finally installed my AEM Cold Air Intake today. Let me just say the the installation was NOT as easy as it seems. I had to remove the battery and the entire fender just to remove the stock intake unit. It was all worth it though. The first noticable change is the sound. One word...whoa. after slamming the accelerator the CAI starts screaming at about 3500rpm and gets louder until shifting. The sound of the intake paired with the GReddy exhaust is unbelievable.
Next performance. The gears definately run through at a faster pace overall. In second and first gears there is a bigger push at about 3500-4000rpm (v-tec engagement). I can even peel a little bit at the end of first gear...thats a rarity for auto trannies.
The only drawback is a slight whistle heard at low rpms in first and second gears. Its noticable at first, but easily ignored later.
All in all, my CAI has been my best (but only second) performance mod yet! I love watching the looks on little civic ricers faces when they realize the aggressive noises just came from an accord flying past them. Absolutely love it.

you only have to remove your front bumper to install the CAI. As a matter of fact, you dont have to. You can pull away the fender wall and install it that way, by jacking up your car a little when you remove the stock air resonator to bring the pipe down.
btw, how can your Accord be a 2.4l?
anyhow, congrats on your new toy.

it's too bad that you have an auto
my friend drive stick and whenever he shifts, it makes a "pssst" noise, almost like a turbo, but that was on a Injen CAI, i dunno about AEM. I remember when i first got my CAI, i was going to **** in my pants because it was really cool, now the sound of my Greddy EVO kills the sound.
About the whistle, i think it's normal for all cars with CAIs cuz i'm getting the same noise. I think it's tyte as hell and you'll get used to it.
again, congrats on your AEM CAI
