Default accord headlight replacement

Can anyone tell me how to replace the headlights on a 96 accord ex? I heard you have to take off the bumper. I want to change the stock lowbeams to hyperwhite. The headlights are really hard to get to.

you mean the bulbs or the whole headlamp assembly?

Changing the bulbs is pretty much easy, just pop the hood, and you'll see the 2 adaptors behind each headlamp, the inner one(near the grill and radiator) is the Highbeam which you don't really need to replace and the outer one (near the corner lamp and fender) is the lowbeam which is what you'd want to change.

Highbeam bulbs are 9005
Lowbeam Bulbs are 9006

Taking off the bumper is another story, if you WISH to take it off, just ask and i'll post instruction on how to.

btw, I forgot to add, to take off the sockets, turn the ring of the adaptors on the back of the headlamp counter clock wise then you'll be able to pull out the bulbs' sockets

And Welcome to the board

there is no space for my hands to fit. There is a bunch of stuff in the way on both sides(passenger and driver). The windshield washer fluid, power steering fluid resevoir(i think that's what it is), and on the other side the air filter.

On the passenger side (air filter), that little snorkel looking thing which sits right behind the headlight....just pull UP on it, and it will come out. And it will pop right back in. On the drivers side...just pull up on the power steering reservoir and you'll be able to remove it from its mount. Piece of cake when you actually think about it.

Thanks man. It's my girlfriend's car, I'll try it, the next time I see her, and let you know how it goes.
