Default Going to Paint Chrome Window trim......

I bought some Rustoleum METALLIC Black paint, crystal clear enamel, and some Industrial Clean/Rust metal primer...... Im using metallic because i want it to kinda bling bling(haha), so that its not a plain dull black finish.

Im going to Sand the chrome down, not that heavy, because i dont want to dig into the finish and create hairline marks which would be visible.... so im going to sand lightly, use some paint thinner on the chrome, then primer it..... etc... etc....

Do you guys think the paint will stick well enough after i do all this? Im thinking once i get the clear enamel on, it will pretty much seal it all up....

If anyones done this, please post pics.

thanks
Sean

Oh, and BTW- im leaving the trim on the car, just masking really good and covering the car.

I just scuffed the chrome, used regular primer, and then painted it with colourmatch paint... the same stuff I used for my wheels/lights etc...

That is one blacked out Accord. Reminds me of the blackout job done with Buick Regals on the Grand Nationals and GNXs. Very bold. Nice work.

my entire car had to be repaited after an 18-wheeler sideswiped the passenger side & I got caught in a hail storm a week later. Since all the trim had hail dings & was gonna be replaced, I had the body shop order the trim off a DX model (it's black). Here are before & after pics:

the top upper trim unscrews(clearly visible) and then u take a screw driver and pop off the liitle clips .. and the thing pops off..... voila.

The door trim has a different kind of clip.... 2 for the front doors, and 3 for the rear doors.... and im not sure if poping those off will break the clips, so i just masked those off.....
