Default Tokico Blue owners help me out!!!

How are your Blues working for you? I've been reading and people keep saying save up and go with Koni. I called Shox.com and they said it was a good budget shock and should last around 60K before you would have to use the warranty and that the Koni would go 100k before needing the warranty. If I have to replace the Blues later on it would just be easier to go with the Koni.

I will be going with Eibach Pro-Kits or H&R Sports springs.

This is for a daily driver with no intentions of racing or showing riding on 225/40/18. I want a close to stock ride. I tend to drive aggresively but not all the time. Please provide some input.
Thanks

Konis will be better but then again they do cost more. I have some friends riding on the Blues and their ride is still comfy (6G sedans). They are dropped on the more aggressive sportlines and it still feels good. If you have no intention of racing or taking it auto crossing then i would siggest you go with the Blues, they are very good value for money.

I went with kyb agx's adjustables and neuspeed sports (aka h&r sports). Agx's at coximport.com for $340 shipped. I bought them all today. We'll see how I like them next week when I get them on. I searched and alot of ppl say blues are too bouncy.

I would go with the AGX but they don't make them for the 6th gen V6.
Bouncy is what I am concerned about. I can't imagine any shock being bouncy but then again I have never owned them.

I've had my tokicos for a year and a half and I've been very happy with them. They have about 35,000 miles on them and they are still going strong. If your not into racing I wouldn't go with Koni, save your money. I've heard alot of good things about AGX as well. Best bang for the buck! If your a poor college kid like me your looking for the best shocks at the best price.

seriously, the blues are not bad at all. i think the prokits will match with the blues very well. i have the shocks and all of the bouncing that people talk about are false. i mean it does get bouncy sometimes, but that true of every shock. i think people just want to justify the amount of money spent on their expensive parts and so they have to compare it with something cheaper. obviously konis are better than the blues but with a prokit drop, the blues will more than suffice. however, if you do plan to drop your car more than 1.7 than i would suggest you go with the konis. most people who hate the blues hate them because they match them with the wrong springs (like they want to slam their car with race springs but realize they dont have enough for the right shocks to match so they get the blues and complain about it later), but both of your spring choices will go well with the blues.

I have H&R sports and Tokico Blues on my ride.

The Blues suck ass the dampening is going on them after a year +/- of use and in general the dampening isn't all that great.

Save your money for a better strut...you will thank e after a year of use.

nightshade et. al,
yeah im scared crazy to drop my car- im on stock springs and the blues (from previous owner) right now but ive got H&R sports on the way.

ive read everything i could on this site and all the terrible reviews the blues got at car review.com. the thing is im pretty broke- is it worth the price and install to buy new shocks and installation. that 400-500 extra dollars is alot to me.

please give me your opinions, thanks,

I am thinking about getting Pro-kits and pairing them up to the Tokico Illuminas. Not trying to jack this thread but, what should I expect to pay for installation of springs and shocks?
