Default Engine install.?!

We were talking prices on engines in another forum, but I am curious as to how much it costs on average to have one installed. I don't have the time or resources to do it myself, so I would have to take it to someone else.

How much should I expect to pay to have an H22 installed into a 5th gen Accord (direct swap). Plus I live in Alabama. What redneck is going to know how to swap a true JDM?

well not sure about the cost to install but not all swaps are JDM engines many are the USDM spec H22 engines.

Yeh I understand that. But, let's say it is JDM. How much trouble is it to get the emissions to spec. Or is it just a matter of swapping parts? I get lost on all that OBD-1 and 2 and all that crap

not to one side your thread but the swap is pretty much straight forward wheither USDM or JDM cuz i had the same question when doing my research on it. as for the ODB1 and ODB2 i honestly forget the differences but its a year thing. most people who have swaps though are 97 prelude engines some might have others depending on the year of their car. emission wise. the right gas in your car with some octane boost will lower your emissions like neva b4 so when inspection times comes around theres no need to even worry.

As for me emissions doesn't matter right now anyway. I live in Alabama (10 years behind). You can pump out straight carbon monoxide and they don't care.

Since it is a direct swap, how much crap would I really have to go through to do it?

an OBDII swap will cost you more. if you buy a 92-96 JDM OBDI motor you can purchase a OBDII - OBDI harness. otherwise buy a USDM 97+ motor will cost you ~$1000 more than a OBDI JDM swap. Install price may be a tad higher too due to the OBDII needing more labor to deal with.
