Default 90 accord probs

my girl has a 90 accord 4cyl 5-speed. it just started having probs with the gearshifting. it is very hard to get the car into any gear. once it's in, it drives fine, and it makes no noises while idling either in gear or in neutral (so that rules out throwout bearing, right? ) from the last time i drove it, it seems like the clutch pedal needs minimal effort to get it down, like there is a lot less resistance. any ideas guys??
