Default Insurance questions

Ok, well my younger bro needs a car. SoOo, I'm gonna let him have mine, so I can get a new one! Ok, well not new, but a new used one. Anywayz, I'm looking for 6G Accord Coupe EX 5speed b/c I can get my mods from the car I have now over to my new puppy so I don't really have to start allll over. I know it's hard to find a blue or red one, but i'll get my hands on one. Anywayz, a couple of questions about insurance.

1. How much more can I expect to pay per month by switching from a 4door to a coupe?
2. Is true that if you get a red car, you will be paying more per month? If so, how much more?

Hopefully, I'll have this new car by the end of the summer. Thanks in advance.

i never had an insurance company ask for the color of my car, so i don't think it matters. it's not the first time i have heard someone ask that, so maybe so some do.

a 2dr will cost a tad more, nothing to get worried over. maybe $50-60 a year more. as the car gets older the difference won't matter as much. with my 5th gen 4dr accord, it's only $24 a year more to insure it as a 95 prelude since i have an H22 i asked about that scenario.

Insurance dont always ask for color because you can get it off the VIN number you have to give them... hehe

I don't think color is built into the VIN... Just manufacturer, origin, body type, engine, transmission.

But I've simply called my insurance, told 'em I'm looking at a couple different cars, and asked what the rates would be.

the color shouldnt be a part of the vin cuz thats something on the car you can change constantly. thats on the regestration and maybe the title but i dont think on the VIN you'll find it

Color isn't apart of the VIN number.
So the bottom line is I should expect to pay about $50 more per year for the coupe? and there isn't an increase for certain colors?
I guess I'll just call my insurace company and find out.
Thanks guys.

I learned in drivers ed that all colors are the same except for red which makes insurance go up $10....I also found it odd that the difference for insurance for me between the i4 03 accord and the v6 is only $10.

Think of it this way....no matter what you pay its still cheaper than the raping Geico gives me at 4200/6months on my Supra I think with a decent driving record and depending on how old you are and how many cars you own.......the insurance on my accord with a crappy driving record and a 9 car discount is 847/year..........so if I got a coupe I might be looking at 900/year.....so either way its not too bad. Good luck!
