Default Tanabe racing medallion on 4g

I got my tanabe racing medallion in today and couldn't wait to get put on. When down to the first shop and they wouldn't even help. So we went to another outside of town and they were quick to help me with smiles. Great customer service. Anyway, got it up on the rack and everything from the cat back was rusted to hell. No wonder my car was sounding like s*it. We BSed for a few and then agreed on 2 1/2 inch pipe from the cat back. It was nice to see the 1 1/2 inch fall to the ground and the 2 1/2 go up.

After paying $150 bucks for the labor and pipe. We went on our way. I couldn't wait to floor it. You can't even tell I have a CAI any more. The exhaust is so loud under load that you can't even hold a conversation inside the car. I think I'm going to go back and have a resonator put on. Its loud, but sounds clean and good. My wife hates the sound. You can't even tell I got exhaust from looking at the car.

Pics will be up soon. Gotta go over to the mother-in-laws to use the digital. And I will try to get a sound file up.

If your wondering why I didn't go farther with the exhaust. We are planning on a built up h22 for high boost and high flow cat and headers.

I got my tanabe rear-section exhaust for 140 shipped used a couple of months ago. I only got the rear-part and kept my mid-pipe in because I already had a hole in the cat and res. But it sounds so nice. Its not loud at all. I mean i was suprised on how quiet it was. But I did only get the rear-part with 2 1/2 from the axel and back. I will probally go back and get 2 1/2 inch pipeing and keep my res. But I love it. Get some shots and video clips if ya can.

Tanabe doesn't make a full cat back system for the 4g in the racing medalion. They only make the hyper medalion. So you have to get a racing medalion for another vehicle and weld it into your system. The muffler I got already had a 2 1/2 inch inlet so we went ahead and made everything from the cat back 2 1/2.

Looks good. If you wanted it out more just get extra pipeing extended. Besides the exhaust sound. Did you notice any performance. Are you auto or manual?

Its auto, and yeah we noticed more power. Longer wheel spins. Longer burnouts. I had a problem keeping the front end straight trying to pull out of the muffler shop.

I'm thinking about having it moved out an inch or 2. I'm afraid that the heat might start melting the abs or rippling the paint. I'll just get that done when I go have a resonator put on.

Hasent burned mine yet! and mine is father then yours is out. What did you mean you had hard time bringing it out of the shop? How can you burnout with your auto? I can only when there is rain and Get very little wheel spin.
