I've taken the whole gauge cluster out before a few times its not really that hard
do you know where all the screws are?
i'll tell you of a few that are not out in the open
there is one behind each of the center vents and driver side vent
one behind the change tray one behind the illumination dimmer
take out the ashtray and there is 1 or 2 there and the 2 right above the stereo
and the rest you'll see

I used the haynes the first time I did it and it was pretty explanatory.
